In June 2025, ISGIL conducted a literacy and debate outreach program in Oyo State, engaging pupils in a thought-provoking debate competition. The initiative aimed to sharpen critical thinking, communication skills, and confidence among young learners.
For many of the participants, it was their first time standing before an audience to voice their opinions. The transformation was clear: shy students found their voices, while others discovered leadership potential they never knew they had.
Why It Matters:
Debate and public speaking are more than just academic activities—they are tools of empowerment. They prepare students to question, analyze, and contribute to society as informed citizens.
By providing platforms like this, ISGIL not only promotes literacy but also builds the next generation of leaders.
We encourage schools, organizations, and community leaders to collaborate with ISGIL in creating more such opportunities. Let’s amplify young voices together.
