On May 11 and 13, 2026, a significant milestone was recorded in Abuja as the Initiatives for Social Inclusion and Grassroots Literacy, in partnership with Amala Education, officially launched the Social Entrepreneurship Programme across two locations in the Federal Capital Territory.
The first inauguration ceremony was held on May 11, 2026, at the New Kuchingoro Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp, while the second launch event took place on May 13, 2026, at Great Achievers Academy, Old NEPA Road, Kuje, Abuja. The programme is a ten-week initiative strategically designed to equip displaced and underserved young people with practical skills in entrepreneurship, leadership, innovation, and problem-solving.

The Social Entrepreneurship Programme seeks to empower participants with the knowledge and tools needed to improve their livelihoods, become self-reliant, and contribute meaningfully to community development. Through practical learning experiences, mentorship, and collaborative engagement, participants are encouraged to identify societal challenges and develop sustainable solutions capable of driving positive social impact within their communities.
Beyond entrepreneurship training, the initiative also prioritizes confidence-building, resilience, leadership development, and social inclusion. By creating a supportive learning environment, the programme aims to foster a renewed sense of purpose and belonging among vulnerable young people while preparing them for future opportunities in education, employment, and community service.

The inauguration events featured interactive sessions that introduced participants to the vision, objectives, and long-term impact of the programme. Speaking during the event, Captain Dr. Lukman Gidado, Director of Strategy and Operations, delivered an insightful overview of the Social Entrepreneurship Course, emphasizing the importance of innovation, creativity, and community-driven leadership in addressing contemporary social and economic challenges.
Community representatives and stakeholders present at both events expressed appreciation to the partnering organizations for bringing impactful educational and empowerment opportunities to underserved communities in Abuja.
In his keynote address, Oluwayomi Owoseye , Founder and Chairman of Initiatives for Social Inclusion and Grassroots Literacy, highlighted the transformative role of education, entrepreneurship, and inclusive development in empowering vulnerable populations. He reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting young people through initiatives that promote sustainable growth, social inclusion, and community transformation.

The launch events concluded with engaging discussions and networking sessions, marking the beginning of what promises to be a transformative learning journey for participants. As the programme progresses across both Abuja locations, there is growing optimism about its potential to positively impact the lives of young people and strengthen the communities they represent.
